• The Arizona Daily Star:  "... an imaginative, amazing writer ... a magician with words.... Each character has been brought to life with a mere pen stroke; flesh and blood beings that are more than fiction....  A  masterpiece of creative writing."

• The Kansas City Star:  "An unforgettable story."

• Christian Science Monitor: "...Heidish weaves the historical facts into a novel so moving that there will be many times in the years to come that I'll take pleasure in remembering that stouthearted woman.  'Annie Oakley' hits the bull's-eye every time."

• Sue Kennon,
Amazon.com Book Reviewer: This book was recommended to me by a friend at work. I am delighted that I read it. You think you know all there is about a person, and a book comes along with many surprises. I really enjoyed reading about Annie Oakley.
Amazingly, Annie came to life showing her frailties as well as her weaknesses that we call have to some degree. The more I read, the more I felt the characters' movement - happiness, fear, sadness, wondering how to handle her fame. I would definitely recommend The Secret of Annie Oakley for a refreshing read.

• Tencha Avila, Amazon.com Book Reviewer: Vivid, honest and compelling portrayal of Annie Oakley and her times told in first person by her adoring husband.
